KUALA LUMPUR: Pearly Tan-M.Thinaah may withdraw from the Hylo Open in Germany that starts on Tuesday.
Following their sensational French Open triumph on Sunday, national women's doubles coach Hoon Thien How said a decision will be made soon over the world No 11's participation in the Super 300 event.
Thien How said Pearly-Thinaah, who made history by becoming the first Malaysian women's doubles to win the French Open title since 1908, should have already qualified for the season-ending World Tour Finals in Guangzhou on Dec 14-18.
On Sunday, Pearly-Thinaah landed their maiden Super 750 title when they upset world No 7 Mayu Matsumoto-Wakana Nagahara of Japan 21-19, 18-21, 21-15 in the final at the Stade Pierre de Coubertine in Paris.
Prior to that, their best achievement was winning the Super 300 Swiss Open last year.
"I am extremely happy for Pearly-Thinaah. Finally another huge breakthrough for them.
"They have been so focused throughout the week, and they truly deserve the win.
"As for the Hylo Open, I will discuss with them before making a decision." By winning the French Open, they should have already qualified for the World Tour Finals," said Thien How.
Pearly-Thinaah told the Badminton World Federation (BWF) that they love playing in Europe.
"I believe Europe is our favourite hunting ground. We also won our Commonwealth Games gold in Birmingham.
"Hopefully this win will push us to greater heights," said Pearly.
