KUALA LUMPUR: Shuttler Ng Tze Yong, who had a bad cough last month, is ready for the All England, which starts tomorrow.
The 23 year old missed training for a few days after coming down with a bad cough that lasted for two weeks.
The world No. 28 is on Academy Badminton Malaysia's priority list for the one-year Olympic qualifiers that start in May.
"Tze Yong is no longer ill, and preparations were good," national singles coach Hendrawan told Timesport today.
"However, everyone must understand that the All England is a Super 1000 event, and it will not be easy for him.
"I do not want to comament on any target, but I can assure you that he will take things one step at a time.
"Every opponent will be tough, and Tze Yong needs to give his best in every match."
Tze Yong will open his campaign against Indonesia's world No. 26 Shesar Hiren Rhustavito in Birmingham.
A win may see the Malaysian facing world No. 1 Viktor Axelsen of Denmark in the second round.
Other Malaysians in the fray are world No. 4 Lee Zii Jia and Liew Daren.
Zii Jia takes on Thailand's Sitthikom Thammasin, while Daren will face Indonesia's Chico Aura Dwi Wardoyo.
Zii Jia won the title in 2021.
