BIRMINGHAM: Aaron Chia-Soh Wooi Yik showed they are back in business by storming into the All-England men's doubles semi-finals.
Not bad for the Malaysian duo who had crashed out in the French Open last week (they lost to South Koreans Kang Min Hyuk-Seo Seung Jae).
On Friday, World No. 5 Aaron-Wooi Yik defeated former All-England champions Muhammad Shohibul Fikri-Bagas Maulana of Indonesia 21-14, 21-11 in the quarter-finals at the Utilita Arena in Birmingham.
It was Aaron-Wooi Yik's fourth consecutive win over the Indonesian pair.
Following the quarter-final exit of Lee Zii Jia in the men's singles, Aaron-Wooi Yik are the only Malaysian challengers left in the prestigious Super 1,000 event.
Aaron-Wooi last reached the All England final in 2019.
National women's pair, Pearly Tan-M. Thinaah fell to Japan's Rena Miyaura-Ayako Sakuramoto 21-11, 18-21, 18-21 in the quarter-finals.
Aaron-Wooi Yik are scheduled to play Taiwan's Lee Jhe Huei-Yang Po Hsuan later for a place in the final.
The Malaysian duo have beaten the Taiwanese in all their three previous meetings.
