World No. 28 Choong Hon Jian-Haikal Nazri suffered a shock 21-18, 15-21, 21-18 defeat to Taiwan's No.80 Lu Ming Che-Tang Kai Wei in the men's doubles quarter-finals.
It was the Malaysian pair's second quarter-final exit since their Orleans Masters triumph in France in March.
Top seeds Satwiksairaj Rankireddy-Chirag Shetty of India blanked Malaysia's world No. 64 Wan Arif Wan Junaidi-Yap Roy King 21-7, 21-14 in another quarter-final match.
Satwiksairaj-Chirag will take on Ming Che-Kai Wei in the semi-final tomorrow.
The other semi-final will pit China's Chen Bo Yang-Liu Yi and South Korea's Kim Gi Jung-Kim Sa Rang.
