KUALA LUMPUR: Shuttler Siti Zulaikha Azmi has set her sights on reaching the girls' singles quarter-finals at the Badminton Asia Junior Championships in Yogyakarta.

Ranked No. 6 in the world junior rankings , Siti Zulaikha is focused on the task at hand.

"My preliminary target is to reach the quarter-finals first. When I get there, I will definitely be aiming to go further," she said.

When not training, Siti Zulaikha enjoys spending time with her family.

The 18-year-old has recorded encouraging results this year.

She finished runner-up at the Sri Lanka International Series, losing to Indonesia's Ruzana in straight games in the final.

Siti Zulaikha has also made it to three semi-finals and two quarter-finals in international events this year.

The Badminton Asia Junior Championships will start with the mixed team competition later on Friday, with Malaysia taking on Macau in a Group B tie.
