Aaron-Wooi Yik go down fighting in Olympic semi-finals

KUALA LUMPUR: Aaron Chia-Soh Wooi Yik put on a battling display before losing to world No. 1 Liang Wei Keng-Wang Chang of China in the Paris Olympic semi-finals at the Porte de la Chapelle Arena on Friday.

The world No. 3 duo fought hard in the second game after losing the first but ultimately succumbed to a 21-19, 15-21, 21-17 defeat in 72 minutes.

Aaron-Wooi Yik will have a chance to defend their bronze medal in the playoff on Sunday.

Earlier, Pearly Tan-M. Thinaah also fell in the women's doubles semi-finals, losing to China's world No. 1 Chen Qing Chen-Jia Yi Fan 21-12, 18-21, 21-15.
