Wei Chong-Kai Wun push world No. 1 to the limit in Arctic Open defeat

KUALA LUMPUR: World No. 13 Man Wei Chong-Tee Kai Wun's Arctic Open campaign came to an end in the quarter-finals in Vantaa, Finland today.

Wei Chong-Kai Wun pushed world No. 1 Liang Wei Keng-Wang Chang of China to the limit but fell 21-17, 16-21, 21-17 in a hard-fought 57-minute men's doubles battle.

The Malaysians were runners-up to world No. 2 Kim Astrup-Anders Skaarup Rasmussen of Denmark last year.

It was Wei Chong-Kai Wun's fifth consecutive defeat to the top-ranked Chinese pair.

Wei Keng-Wang Chang will face Malaysia's in-form Goh Sze Fei-Nur Izzuddin Rumsani in the semi-finals tomorrow.
