Pearly-Thinaah ease into Arctic Open semis

KUALA LUMPUR: Malaysia's women's doubles pair Pearly Tan-M. Thinaah stormed into the Arctic Open semi-finals in Vantaa, Finland, on Friday (Oct 11).

The world No. 7 comfortably defeated Taiwan's Chang Ching Hui-Yang Ching Tun 21-18, 21-8 in a quarter-final clash that lasted just 32 minutes.

They will face Japan's world No. 6 Rin Iwanaga-Kie Nakanishi in the semi-finals later today (Oct 12).

Iwanaga-Nakanishi edged China's scratch pair Jia Yi Fan-Li Wen Mei 10-21, 24-22, 21-17, in a thrilling quarter-final on Friday.

Pearly-Thinaah, who won the Hong Kong Open earlier this year, hold a 3-1 head-to-head record against the Japanese pair.
