GEORGETOWN, GUYANA: Uganda captain Brian Masaba won the toss and opted to bowl first against Papua New Guinea in their T20 World Cup Group C match at Providence Stadium on Wednesday.
Both teams, who compete at the associate level, are looking for their first win in a T20 World Cup having lost their opening games.
Papua New Guinea, who played in the 2021 edition without winning, lost their opening game against West Indies but pushed the co-hosts hard in an encouraging performance.
Debutants Uganda, who pulled off an upset by qualifying for the tournament ahead of Zimbabwe, were well beaten by Afghanistan in their opener, managing just 58 as they chased a total of 184.
