KUALA LUMPUR: Selangor's Amri Yahyah scored twice against his former team as the 33-time champions ended Darul Ta'zim's 12-match unbeaten run in all competitions with a 3-2 win in a Group D match of the Malaysia Cup at Selayang Stadium on Tuesday.
It was also Selangor's first win over Darul Ta'zim in four years.
Fairuz Abd Aziz netted Selangor's opening goal in the 33rd minute before Amri extended their lead two minutes later.
However, Darul Ta'zim performed strongly after the breather with goals from Ahmad Hazwan Bakri (56th) and Darren Loke (69th). It was Darren's first ever goal for Darul Ta'zim.
Just when the match was heading towards a draw, Selangor earned a penalty kick which Amri stepped in and scored in the 90th minute.
In another match, Sarawak were held 0-0 by Terengganu in Kuching.
Selangor led the group with seven points, followed by Darul Ta'zim (four), Terengganu (three) and Sarawak (one) after three rounds.
In Group A, Brazilian Gilberto Fortunato's brace earned Perak SEDC a 2-0 win over Negri Sembilan in Tanjung Malim, while T-Team were held 1-1 by Pahang in Kuala Terengganu.
Mohamadou Sumareh opened for Pahang in the first minute only for T-Team to reply through Nor Hakim Hassan five minutes later.
In Group B, Felda were held 1-1 by Perak in Jengka while PKNS and Kuala Lumpur drew 0-0 in Shah Alam.
Shahrul Saad put Perak in the lead with a header in the 65th minute but Zah Rahan Krangar capitalised on a Shahrom Kalam defensive error to equalise for Felda a minute later.
In Group C, Brazilian Felipe de Souza scored a double for Melaka in the 2-1 win over University Technology Mara (UiTM) at Hang Jebat Stadium.
Souza scored in the 22nd and 63rd minutes while UiTM replied through Akanni Wasiu in the 45th minute.
In another match, Kelantan upset Kedah 3-1 in Kota Baru.
Kelantan scored through Morgaro Gomis (54th) and Abou Bakr Al-Mel (65th and 90th) with Liridon Krasniqi netting for Kedah in the 84th minute.
