JOHOR BARU: The Johor government is expected to announce a reward soon for the Johor Darul Ta'zim (JDT) football club for winning the Malaysia Cup.
Johor Menteri Besar Datuk Seri Mohamed Khaled Nordin said a discussion will be held in the state executive council meeting on Wednesday, which is expected to finalise details of the incentive for JDT.
"I congratulate JDT for its victory last night. Johor is extremely proud of the achievement. We believe that many loyal fans contributed to the victory. Fans such as His Majesty the Sultan of Johor and the people contributed to the victory.
"Of course, we cannot deny that the biggest contributor to JDT's success was (its owner) Tunku Mahkota Johor Tunku Ismail Sultan Ibrahim.
"We will look into what reward we will present to JDT. The club has won many cups before but this is the highest honour they have received," said Khaled after launching the Puteri Umno Jalinan Rakyat Programme in Holiday Villa Hotel here today.
Also present were Puteri Umno chief Datuk Mas Ermieyati Samsudin and Johor Baru Umno chief Tan Sri Shahrir Samad.
