Safawi: Interest from South Korea clubs are just rumours

KUALA LUMPUR: National under-23 forward Safawi Rasid is now a hot property in Malaysian football as it is said that two clubs from South Korea are keen to secure his services from Johor Darul Ta’zim (JDT).

The 21-year-old hopes the rumours are true as he wants to try his luck abroad.

"I am very happy with the news, although, they are only rumours at this point. No South Korean club have made an offer so far,” said Safawi.

“However, I hope it becomes a reality.

"I am now focused on preparing for the new M-League season. I want to play regularly for JDT.

Dungun-born Safawi played a key role in Malaysia’s quarter-final run at the recent AFC Under-23 Championship in China.
