KUALA LUMPUR: Football Malaysia Limited Liability Partnership (FMLLP) have approved Selangor’s application to have the Kuala Lumpur Football Stadium (KLFA Stadium) in Cheras as their official home ground for the coming Malaysia League (M-League) season.
FMLLP chief executive officer, Kevin Ramalingam explained that they are now in the process of finalising the M-League schedule to avoid any overlapping match scheduling because the same stadium will also be used by Kuala Lumpur and Police.
In fact, he said there should be no problems of these three teams using the same stadium if the stadium’s authorities have given their approval.
“If the stadium’s authorities have already given the green light for all three teams to play their home matches at the stadium, it means they understand that they need to ensure that the quality of the football pitch is up to mark, and other requirements necessary for a stadium that will host M-League matches are met and complied with.
“Whatever it is, we are happy for Selangor and this is good news for their fans and supporters, and the team should be able to reap the rewards of profits in terms of ticket sales.
“Where FMLLP is concerned, we will always help any team that faces any problems or difficulties for the betterment of the M-league and all the fans,” he said earlier today.
Yesterday (Tuesday), the FA of Selangor (FAS) confirmed that they had obtained approval from Kuala Lumpur City Hall (DBKL) to use the KLFA Stadium as stated by Kevin prior to this.
Selangor’s previous home ground, the Shah Alam Stadium is being used by two teams, PKNS FC and Felcra FC.
