FAM urge players with salary issues to come forward

KUALA LUMPUR: The FA of Malaysia (FAM) follow strict regulations in regard to club licensing.

FAM secretary-general Stuart Ramalingam said M-League teams wanting a club licence, issued by the First Instance Body and the national body’s licensing unit, must adhere to strict regulations and guidelines

He said whether a team are successful or not in being granted a club licence is based on the required documents submitted by them.

“Most players who are having issues with wages do not bring up their cases to the concerned parties.

“We cannot investigate and take action based on rumours as we are not the police.

“Teams are required to submit their audited accounts and other documents and from there we can take action. Some clubs have private agreements with players in regard to outstanding wages,” said Stuart after the executive committee meeting in Seri Kembangan here today.

He also urged players with salary issues to come forward, so that FAM can investigate and take action.

“Players have several channels to forward their cases. They can go through FAM or the Professional Footballers Association of Malaysia,” Stuart added.
