KUALA LUMPUR: After an absence of three years, Nigerian Dickson Nwakaeme returned to Pahang with a bang yesterday.
In their Super League opener at Kuala Lumpur Football Stadium, Nwakaeme, 31, grabbed two goals for the Elephants in their 3-1 win over Kuala Lumpur.
Forward Saddil Ramdani opened the scoring for Pahang after taking advantage of a rebound from Gambian Mohamadou Sumareh’s attempt in the 23rd minute.
In the second half, KL came out in full spirit and the City boys were rewarded with the equaliser in the 48th minute through Afiq Ahmad Razali.
However, KL’s celebrations were short-lived as Nwakaeme, known as the Man of Steel, beat goalkeeper Mohd Sharbinee Allawee Ramli in the 52nd minute.
Nwakaeme was not finished yet as the predatory Nigerian struck again in extra time.
