TWO Super League teams and two Premier League teams will have “restrictions” placed on them for the 2020 season if they do not settle their debts.
This was revealed by FAM secretary general Stuart Ramalingam yesterday.
“There’re four clubs with some (financial) issues and they have restrictions put on them. We are looking at solutions for them.”
Restrictions include teams not being allowed to sign players.
If the teams do not sort out their financial issues, Stuart said FAM will announce the action to be taken against them before the league kicks off on Feb 28.
He said the four teams only started to face financial issues after the club licences were issued to them earlier.
Overall, Stuart said the M-League clubs have made improvement in their management.
Stuart said there have been no new cases of non- payments of salaries by teams to players.
He said FAM want to prevent cases like the Perlis fiasco from happening again. Last year, FAM cancelled Perlis’ participation in the Super League due to financial problems.
