Felda and PJ City share spoils in Jengka

KUALA LUMPUR: Felda United FC failed to make the most of home ground advantage when they were held 1-1 by PJ City FC in their opening Super League match at the Tun Abdul Razak Stadium in Jengka on Sunday.

Ariff Farhan scored for the visitors in the 47th minute.

However, the joy was short-lived as former national defender Mahali Jasuli caught the Felda United defence off guard to equalise in the 74th minute.

In another match, Police and Sabah played to a goalless draw at the KLFA Stadium in Cheras.

However, Police are at the bottom of the table with minus two points after being docked three points by the FA of Malaysia for failing to settle salary arrears.

In the Premier League, hosts Penang defeated Sarawak United 4-2 at City Stadium.

Brazilian striker Anselmo Arruda Da Silva was the toast for Penang with a brace in the seventh and 40th minutes. Penang’s other goals were scored by Amer Azahar (36th) and Endrick Dos Santos (53rd).

Sarawak United reduced the deficit through Iranian Milad Zanidpour (43rd) and Brazilian striker Patrick Wleh (63rd).

At the UiTM Stadium, Terengganu FC II edged Selangor II 1-0 courtesy of Jordan Mintah’s goal in the 80th minute.

Newcomers Kelantan United defeated Perak II 1-0 at the Manjung Stadium.

Fakhrul Zaman Wan Abdullah Zawawi netted for the Kelantan United side in the 84th minute. BERNAMA
