[UPDATED] FashionValet founders to continue MACC questioning tomorrow

KUALA LUMPUR: The statement-taking process involving FashionValet founders Datin Vivy Yusof and Datuk Fadzaruddin Shah Anuar will continue tomorrow.

A source from the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) confirmed that while the session was initially expected to conclude around 10pm today, questioning would resume at 10am tomorrow.

The investigation is being conducted under Section 18 of the MACC Act 2009, which pertains to the recording of statements to assist with ongoing inquiries.

As of 8pm, the couple were still being questioned at the MACC headquarters in Putrajaya.

Sources revealed that the couple arrived at the headquarters at 2pm and were being grilled as part of the MACC's probe into alleged investment losses amounting to RM43.9 million, involving Khazanah Nasional Bhd (Khazanah) and Permodalan Nasional Bhd (PNB).

MACC Chief Commissioner Tan Sri Azam Baki confirmed that both individuals were under questioning but declined to comment on the possibility of their remand, saying that it would be at the discretion of the investigating officer.

"I will rely on the discretion of my IO," he said.

The investigation has also involved the seizure of several documents from the Finance Ministry, Khazanah, PNB, and FashionValet Sdn Bhd's headquarters, which were collected during searches yesterday.

On Nov 1, the couple announced they would step down from their roles at FashionValet in light of the ongoing investigation into the sale of PNB and Khazanah's stakes in the company.

They made the decision to protect the company, which is currently undergoing a financial turnaround.
