Josue is now a KL City legend

KUALA LUMPUR: Paulo Josue never imagined he would become KL City's all-time leading scorer, but the Brazilian midfielder has now achieved this milestone.

Josue, who joined KL City in 2017, made history by netting 69 goals, surpassing Singaporean football legend Fandi Ahmad's long-standing record of 67.

He reached the landmark by scoring a brace in Saturday's 5-0 thrashing of Kedah in their Super League clash at KLFA Stadium in Cheras.

At 35, Josue has firmly cemented his legacy as one of the club's greatest players.

"It's a dream come true," said Josue.

"Never in my wildest dreams did I think I'd become the all-time top scorer for any club. I'm incredibly thankful to my teammates and the supporters who made this possible."

Josue's impact extends beyond his goal-scoring prowess.

He has led KL City to three finals, with the standout achievement being part of the squad that won the 2021 Malaysia Cup.

The naturalised player is also a member of the Harimau Malaya squad and played in the Asian Cup in January.
