Reinforced with new foreign signings, Sri Pahang hope to bounce back in the second half of the Super League season.
The Elephants, who are 11th in the 12-team standings with eight points from 11 matches, are eager to get things going against Selangor at the Darulmakmur Stadium in Kuantan today.
The four new foreign signings are Australia's Kenny Athiu, Myanmar's Aung Kaung Mann, Argentina's Manuel Hildago and Ghana's Abubakar Yakubu.
Coach Dollah Salleh (pic) is confident the new signings will help turn things around for Sri Pahang in the league.
"From my observation, the new players are good. However, they still need to work on their match fitness," said Dollah yesterday.
"We lost several quality local players at the start of the season.
"We hope the new signings will lead and guide our young team.
"The target is to avoid relegation.
"I am confident the new signings can bring a positive change to the team."
However, it will not be easy for Pahang when they face Selangor today.
In-form striker Ifedayo Omosuyi has been the star for the Red Giants with 11 goals.
However, Dollah's boys will not only focus on stopping Omosuyi today.
"I want the team to play their game. Selangor have good players and are in good form.
"As we are in a tight spot, we cannot afford bad days in the league anymore.
"We need to collect points to remain in the top-tier competition next season," he added.
