SARAWAK United technical director B. Satiananthan has tested positive for Covid-19, and is being treated at the Sarawak General Hospital.
The former Selangor coach is one of eight Sarawak United staff infected by the virus. Two more personnel of the team are awaiting their PCR test results.
Sarawak FA president Datuk Posa Majais said he is saddened by the news.
"Our office, which includes Satiananthan, in Kuching, was hit by Covid-19. The football players are not affected. Those affected are the staff.
"I wish and pray for their speedy recovery."
Satiananthan, a former national coach, said he is being treated and is under observation.
Satiananthan said he is relieved that his wife and son tested negative for the virus.
"I will fight it (Covid-19) hard," he said tersely.
Posa said among those infected are President's Cup team coaches and staff.
"A total of eight people are infected, and this includes the President's Cup coaches.
"Thankfully, the players have tested negative as they had no training in the past week."
The President's Cup competition will kick off on June 3.
