KUALA LUMPUR: Terengganu showed no signs of rust after a two-month break as they thrashed Perak 5-0 in today's Super League clash at the Sultan Mizan Zainal Abidin Stadium in Gong Badak.
The Turtles led 3-0 before the break with goals from Faisal Halim (18th minute), David Da Silva (22nd) and Faiz Nasir (41st).
In the second half, Terengganu slowed down the tempo but were still good enough to add two more goals through Hakimi Abdullah (71st) and Nik Akif Syahiran Nik Mat (90th).
Terengganu are now level with leaders Johor Darul Ta'zim (JDT) on 30 points.
At the KLFA Stadium, Kuala Lumpur City were held 1-1 by rivals Selangor.
KL captain Paulo Josue scored in the 39th minute, only for Oliver Buff to level the match three minutes later.
In another Super League clash, PJ City edged Sabah 1-0 at the MBPJ Stadium.
Forward Sunil Chandran's late strike outside the box in the 90th minute ended his team's three-match winless run.
It was Sabah's sixth defeat of the season.
The Premier League match between Kuching City and Terengganu FC II, scheduled earlier today, was postponed after several players and officials from the Borneo side were tested positive for Covid-19.
Sarawak United's match against Perak FC II tomorrow has also been postponed after a player tested positive.
