Discovery to air docu-series on JDT

KUALA LUMPUR: As Johor Darul Ta'zim (JDT) lift their eighth successive Super League title this Sunday, fans can watch the story behind their success in the docu-series "Fearless: Rise of the Southern Tigers".

Directed by War of the Worlds: Goliath's Leon Tan and Tony Pietra Arjuna, the docu-series was acquired by Discovery, Inc. and will be aired across Southeast Asia, Taiwan and Hong Kong.

Documenting a behind-the-scenes story in five parts, fans will get to see how JDT are managed, and the changes Johor football has undergone since club owner Tunku Ismail Sultan Ibrahim took charge in 2013.

Among the stories told are Tunku Ismail's vision for Johor football, his commitment, and backroom discussions on club decisions.

"I am delighted that many parts of Asia will now be able to watch the incredible story of JDT FC and how we work so hard behind the scenes to ensure success on and off the field," said Tunku Ismail.

As they say, behind every successful man there is a great woman, and in this case, it is Tunku Ismail's wife, Che Puan Besar Khaeleeda Bustamam, who also shares her experiences and dotes on how passionate her husband is towards the project.

The series also features interviews with JDT technical director Alistair Edwards, sporting director Martin Prest, head coach Benjamin Mora, former manager Luciano Figueroa, JDT Academy coaches, players, fans and other individuals at JDT.

The camera also follows several players and Mora to their respective homes.

The series is set to premier tomorrow at 9pm local time on the Discovery Asia channel.

"Discovery is always looking for compelling local stories that resonate across Asia Pacific," said Discovery, Inc. head of content (Asia Pacific) Lynn Ng.

"The rise of JDT is a success story celebrated by many, and we are thrilled to bring this series to audiences across the region."
