WILL the FA of Malaysia (FAM) reveal the identify of Harimau Malaya's new coach tomorrow?
The national team are without a coach following the resignation of Tan Cheng Hoe on Jan 2, just a few days after the national team had failed to reach the semi-finals of the AFF Cup.
It will be unwise for FAM to delay any further as Malaysia have to prepare for the Asian Cup qualifiers in June.
Qualifying for the 2023 Asian Cup in China is a priority for the national body.
FAM will hold their executive committee meeting tomorrow to discuss several matters, including the possibility of endorsing a new coach for the national team.
FAM have shortlisted a few candidates for the hot seat.
A source revealed that South Korea's Kim Hak Bum and Kim Pan Gon, and KL City coach Bojan Hodak have been shortlisted by FAM.
And their names were disclosed by top FAM officials during the ground-breaking ceremony for FAM's new headquarters in Putrajaya three days ago.
Pan Gon, who is now the technical director of the Korea FA, is interested in returning to coaching. He had coached Hong Kong before returning to Korea.
Pan Gon fits the bill as he is one of the better coaches in Asia.
Hak Bum, meanwhile, had coached Korea's Olympic team and is now a free agent.
Hodak could be a strong candidate as he has worked with many clubs in the M-League and won several titles.
His knowledge about Malaysian football will be an asset if hired by FAM for the job.
However, FAM have not confirmed whether they have approached Hodak.
