KUALA LUMPUR: Selangor will take on mighty Johor Darul Ta'zim (JDT) in the Malaysia Cup final on Saturday.
The Red Giants reached the final despite a 1-0 defeat to Terengganu in today's semi-final return leg at Sultan Mizan Zainal Abidin Stadium, going through 3-2 on aggregate.
Kipre Tchetche scored the only goal of the match in the 35th minute.
Tchetche had the ball in the Selangor net again after 57 minutes but was ruled offside.
Selangor were down to 10 players in the 88th minute when centre-back Yazan Al-Arab was given his marching orders following a second yellow card.
With nine minutes of stoppage time, the Turtles gave Selangor anxious moments but the visitors defended stoutly until the final whistle.
Against JDT in the final, Selangor will be hoping to win their 34th Malaysia Cup crown.
