Ex-Manchester United star Falcao to join JDT?

KUALA LUMPUR: Former Manchester United and Chelsea star Radamel Falcao will be joining Johor Darul Ta'zim (JDT), said Spanish newspaper Marca.

The Colombian striker's contract with La Liga club, Rayo Vallecano, will end in June, and according to Marca, he is ready to take on a new challenge with JDT.

Falcao, 37, is expected to sign for JDT in the second M-League transfer window from July 5- Aug 1.

A potential contract with the Southern Tigers could also see Falcao becoming an ambassador for his new team, as well as the state of Johor, upon his retirement.

Should Falcao don JDT colours, he would be the second high-profile player to join the Super League champions after Argentine star Pablo Aimar in 2013.

"JDT, owned by Tunku Ismail Sultan Ibrahim, want to sign Falcao for two seasons, and he will be an ambassador for the club and the city," reported Marca.

Last week, Falcao's agent, Morris Pagniello, shared a picture of himself with Falcao, and tagged Tunku Ismail on Instagram. The JDT owner replied with a thumbs-up emoticon.
