Manchester United concerned over Malaysian flood victims

KUALA LUMPUR: Manchester United have sent a heartfelt message of support to Malaysians affected by the recent floods.

In a thoughtful gesture, the English Premier League team posted their message in Bahasa Melayu on their official Facebook page yesterday. And this has earned praise from fans across the nation.

"To the people of Malaysia, take care during this rainy season. We've got your back, Malaysians! To the flood victims, we hope you stay strong and overcome this challenge safely."

The post garnered more than 9,000 likes, 1,900 shares and close to 500 comments in less than 24 hours.

"Thank you Manchester United for remembering us during difficult times in Malaysia due to the floods," said Muhib Arkani, a fan.

Another fan, Syah Dzol, said: "Thank you Manchester United. We, as Malaysian fans of #GGMU, appreciate your well wishes."

Another fan, Ameruddin Salleh, said: "Thank you admin for being concerned about GGMU fans. I am from Kota Baru and the rain has stopped since evening. Alhamdulillah."

The floods, which have hit nine states, have displaced more than 102,000 Malaysians.
