Thailand thrash Malaysia in Under-17 Asian Cup match

KUALA LUMPUR: Malaysia were thrashed 3-0 by Thailand in today's Under-17 Asian Cup Group A match at Pathum Thani Stadium.

It was Malaysia's second straight defeat, which meant the team would not advance to the next round.

For the record, the target was to finish top four and qualify for the Under-17 World Cup.

Osmera Omaro's side did well to contain the War Elephants but lost their momentum in the closing minutes of the first half.

Thailand captain Pacharaphol Lekkun scored in the 45th minute

Chanasorn Choklap added Thailand's second in the 54th minute, while Chanothai Kongmeng completed the rout after 78 minutes.
