KUALA LUMPUR: Former Manchester United star Dimitar Berbatov may want to say he has a 'gostan' shot or a 'gostan' move.
'Gostan' was among the local lingo that striker Berbatov picked up in his trip to Malaysia.
As they get ready for the Battle of the Reds at Bukit Jalil tomorrow,
the former stars from Liverpool and Manchester United have been picking up some Bahasa words.
In a lively football forum at a hotel hosted by former Sports Minister Khairy Jamaluddin and radio personality Jakeman Abdullah, players from both Manchester Reds and Liverpool Reds, including luminaries such as Luis Garcia, Steve McManaman, Paul Rachubka, and Berbatov, tried their hand at Bahasa.
They were joined by fans, social media influencers and members of the media.
Amid the fun, the EPL legends took part in a unique challenge, attempting to play with Malay words.
Berbatov said: "I feel a bit blurred because you bojio (don't invite) me, but you can gostan (reverse) your decision."
Former Liverpool star Luis Garcia, gamely ventured: "Chup, jom kita lepak malam ini. (Hold on, let's hang out tonight)."
The two-hour session flowed with shared experiences and infectious laughter, leaving everyone present thoroughly entertained and enriched by the exchange.
The event was organised by Tune Protect.
