KUALA LUMPUR: The Argentine-born Sergio Aguero got a call-up today to join Harimau Malaya before their final Group D World Cup qualifier against Taiwan at the National Stadium, Bukit Jalil on Tuesday.
The Sri Pahang attacking midfielder is coming in at a time when Malaysia are missing injured key forwards Faisal Halim, Arif Aiman Hanapi, Romel Morales and Darren Lok.
FAM announced Aguero's inclusion in a video clip of today's training session at Wisma FAM in Kelana Jaya.
"Aguero joins Harimau Malaya's training camp tonight as the 26th player for Kim Pan Gon's side to face Taiwan at the National Stadium," stated FAM.
Aguero made his debut for Malaysia on Dec 9, 2022 against Cambodia in an international friendly at Bukit Jalil. Since then, he has earned nine caps and scored two goals for the national team.
