Selangor coach Nidzam sees Kuching City as a threat

KUALA LUMPUR: Selangor coach Nidzam Jamil views Kuching City as a formidable side ahead of their FA Cup first-leg clash at State Stadium on Saturday.

Following their impressive run in the M-League this year, Nidzam believes his team are hitting peak form.

"Our focus is on securing an away win against Kuching City. It will offer us an advantage before the return leg at the MBPJ Stadium on July 6.

"Our squad is performing exceptionally well, and they understand the significance of maintaining that momentum," said Nidzam.

Having breezed through to the quarter-finals after a commanding 4-0 victory over Negri Sembilan on June 15, Selangor remain confident despite recent tactical and lineup concerns.

Nidzam assured fans that the team are committed to ironing out weaknesses to bolster their defensive stability.

"There are weaknesses that need to be addressed, but the players remain committed to improving, especially in defence," he said.

For the record, Selangor are second in the Super League standings with nine points from four matches.
