KUALA LUMPUR: Selangor's rising star Muhammad Abu Khalil will join FC Osaka on loan following trials with the Japanese club from June 24 to July 2.
The national Under-23 midfielder has played 18 MFL Cup matches and made his first team debut for the Red Giants last season.
Muhammad, 19, has also turned out for Harimau Muda in two Asian Cup matches against Uzbekistan and Vietnam.
An excited Muhammad said: "I never expected to play abroad. I want to thank Selangor for giving me the opportunity to travel to Japan and join FC Osaka on loan. This is a significant step in my football career, and I learned a lot during the trial session.
"I'm also grateful that FC Osaka (who are currently third in the J3 League) believe in my ability to contribute to their squad.
"I hope this paves the way for more Malaysian talents to play in other countries."
