Selangor beat Cebu in ACL2

KUALA LUMPUR: Selangor did just enough to record their first win in the Asian Champions League 2 (ACL2) by edging Philippine side Cebu 1-0 at the MBPJ Stadium on Thursday (Oct 3).

The Red Giants' winner was scored by Venezuelan midfielder Yohandry Orozco in the 10th minute.

The win extended Selangor's unbeaten run in all competitions to four matches since their 6-1 loss to Johor Darul Ta'zim in the FA Cup final on Aug 24.

Despite the win, Selangor were wasteful with their chances as they should have scored more goals against Cebu who are the Group H bottom side.

The much needed win left Selangor second in Group H behind South Korean club Jeonbuk

with four points. The Red Giants drew with Thai side Muangthong United on Sept 19.
