Faisal plays first match for Selangor today after acid attack [WATCH]

KUALA LUMPUR: Selangor winger Faisal Halim took to the field today for the first time - in a Super League match against Kelantan Darul Naim - five months after surviving a horrific acid attack.

Faisal, wearing a protective face mask, substituted Reziq Bani Hani in the 80th minute at MBPJ Stadium,

However, Faisal was kept waiting on the sideline for five minutes as referee Munir Izam reviewed a foul which resulted in a penalty goal for Selangor. The Red Giants won the match 2-0, with the two goals from Ronnie Fernandez.

When the 26-year-old Faisal stepped onto the field, the nearly 7,000 fans at the stadium erupted and gave him a standing ovation as they acknowledged his courage and determination for his comeback.

Once on the pitch, Faisal immediately began displaying his flair, attempting a shot on goal that, though off target, reminded everyone of his talent.

Faisal's heartwarming presence on the field was a powerful symbol of his resilience and a triumph of the sporting spirit.
