Selangor come from behind for Super League win

KUALA LUMPUR: Selangor gave away one goal first and got back two in return.

They came from behind to beat Sabah 2-1 in their Super League encounter at the Likas Stadium today.

The match saw Selangor scoring all three goals with captain Safuwan Baharudin conceding an own goal (27th minute) before Ronnie Fernandez's equaliser (32nd) and Harith Haiqal Adam Afkar netting a late winner (86th).

The match also saw Faisal Halim making his second appearance for Selangor after coming on for Nooa Laine in the 81st minute.

Faisal, who suffered a horrific acid attack on May 5 by an unknown assailant, took five months to recover from severe injuries.

The win leaves Selangor second in the 13-team standings with 19 points from nine matches and three points adrift of defending champions Johor Darul Ta'zim (JDT) who have a game in hand.

Sabah are fourth with 13 points from eight matches.

The hard-fought win saw the Red Giants extend their unbeaten run to five matches from last month. It's the perfect boost for their FA Cup final clash against JDT on Aug 24.
