KUCHING: The Malaysia Games (Sukma) serves as the perfect platform for football scouts to identify new talent for the M-League.
FA of Malaysia (FAM) vice president Firdaus Mohamed watched a number of matches at the Sarawak Sukma and believes a number of the players have the potential to be signed by Super League clubs' Youth Cup and President's Cup sides.
"These Sukma players are still young and talent scouts for the M-League should take this opportunity to sign them," said Firdaus.
"Sukma is the perfect platform to evaluate them as they will be playing all out for their respective states.
"They have the potential to go far if they are given adequate guidance and exposure by M-League sides."
Federal Territories won the men's football gold, dubbed the mother of all golds, at Sukma Sarawak after beating Melaka 2-1 in the final.
Selangor won the women's football gold after beating Sabah 3-1.
