KUALA LUMPUR: Sabah secured a place in the Asian Women's Champions League (AWCL) after topping their group in the qualifying round on Saturday (Aug 31).
They are the first Malaysan women's team to advance to the tournament proper.
The Sabah team edged Uzbekistan's PRC Nasaf 2-1 at Likas Stadium, Kota Kinabalu, to finish at the top of Group C.
Win Theinge Tun was the hero for Sabah, netting a brace in the 31st and 44th minutes.
Alvine Emma Ngonja pulled one back for Nasaf in the 82nd minute, but it wasn't enough to deny Sabah victory.
On Wednesday, Sabah were held to a 0-0 draw by Nepal's APF FC in their opening group match.
