Malaysia held by 10-man North Korea in Dushanbe

KUALA LUMPUR: Malaysia were held to a 0-0 draw by 10-player North Korea in an Under-20 Asian Cup football qualifier at the Republican Central Stadium in Dushanbe, Tajikistan, on Monday.

Group E leaders North Korea came into the match on the back of a commanding 4-0 victory over Sri Lanka on Saturday.

Malaysia's best opportunity came in the 66th minute when a foul by North Korea's Jong Un Hyok on Haykal Danish resulted in a free kick. The challenge also earned Un Hyok his second yellow card of the match, and he was sent off.

Despite having an extra player for the remaining 24 minutes, Harimau Muda were unable to break down the North Korean defence.
