KUALA LUMPUR: Even though the opponents were weak, Malaysia couldn't end their campaign at the Under-20 Asian Cup qualifying competition on a winning note.
Malaysia, already out of the running for a place in the next round before kickoff, could only draw 1-1 with lowly Sri Lanka today in Dushanbe, Tajikistan.
Amir Farhan put Harimau Muda ahead in the 31st minute, but Sri Lanka, who had not scored in their last three matches, equalised through Johnjimron Harish in the 87th.
