Harimau Malaya to play India in friendly

KUALA LUMPUR: Harimau Malaya will take on India in a friendly match in November.

FAM confirmed that coach Pau Marti Vicente's men will play world No. 126 India, but the venue and date are yet to will be finalised by the All India Football Federation.

The last meeting between Malaysia and India was at last year's Merdeka Tournament, where Harimau Malaya, then coached by Kim Pan Gon, won 4-2 at the National Stadium in Bukit Jalil.

Malaysia's previous trip to India was in 2011 for two friendlies. The team, managed by Datuk K. Rajagobal, drew 1-1 in Guwahati and lost 3-2 in Kolkata to India's national team.

World No. 132 Malaysia are also looking to play another team during the Fifa window from Nov 11-19.

Malaysia will meet No. 95 New Zealand in a friendly in Auckland on Oct 14.
