KUALA LUMPUR: Malaysia drew 1-1 with India in a friendly in Hyderabad, a warm-up fixture ahead of next month's AFF Cup.
Paulo Josue opened the scoring for Malaysia in the 19th minute, capitalising on a defensive clearance before rounding Indian goalkeeper Gurpreet Singh and slotting the ball into an empty net.
India levelled the score in the 38th minute through Rahul Bheke, who headed in from a well-delivered corner.
Malaysia had better opportunities in the second half but failed to convert their chances.
Captain Dion Cools described the draw as a fair result.
"India made it tough for us to create chances from open play," said Cools. "They did a good job stopping us. It was a good match and, in general, we had more chances."
Malaysia were missing several key players, including Natxo Insa and Arif Aiman Hanapi.
