JDT edge Kuching City to extend unbeaten Super League run

KUALA LUMPUR: Johor Darul Ta'zim (JDT) continued their dominant run in the Super League, securing a 2-1 victory over Kuching City at the Sultan Ibrahim Stadium, Iskandar Puteri today.

JDT's Bergson da Silva broke the deadlock three minutes into the second half before Juan Muniz doubled the advantage in the 82nd minute.

JDT, the defending champions, lead the standings with 31 points from 10 wins and one draw in 11 matches. Kuching City sit fourth with 14 points.

Meanwhile, Kelantan Darul Naim (KDN) recorded their first win since June, defeating Negri Sembilan 3-2 in Paroi.

KDN raced into a 2-0 lead in the first half with goals from Hakimi Abdullah (14th minute) and Kim Likwan (36th).

However, Negri mounted a dramatic late comeback, with Jacque Faye reducing the deficit in the 85th minute and new signing Sebastian Avanzini equalising five minutes later.

Just as the match looked set for a draw, KDN captain Oday Kharoub netted a stunning winner five minutes into injury time, sealing all three points for his side.

The victory lifts KDN to 12th in the standings with six points, while Negri Sembilan sink to the bottom, with only five points.
