KUALA LUMPUR: There is much speculation on the future of Penang coach Akmal Rizal Rakhli as his team face Sabah in a Super League match at the City Stadium today.
Following a 1-0 loss to Sri Pahang last week, the pressure is mounting on Akmal as fans question his handling of the team.
Akmal accepted full responsibility for the team's struggles and acknowledged the urgent need for improvement during a press conference last week.
The situation has prompted the Penang FC management to take action. Following a board of directors meeting on Oct 21, the club announced that significant changes may be coming.
"We are prioritising the interests of the team and our supporters. Important decisions are being made to enhance our performance and restore commitment from both players and coaching staff," the statement read.
