KUALA LUMPUR: Selangor FC's new head coach, Katsuhito Kinoshi, was relieved to avoid a "hat-trick" of defeats on Monday.
The Japanese, who took over the Selangor team about 20 days ago, finally won a match when the Red Giants crushed Negri Sembilan 4-0 in a Super League match in Paroi.
Kinoshi's first two matches ended badly when Selangor lost to Muangthong United (2-1) in the AFC Champions League 2 and to Pahang (2-1) in the Malaysia Cup.
"I'm very satisfied with Selangor's performance (against Negri).
"The players showed the true character of the team by dominating much of the game," said Kinoshi.
