Asian Tour CEO Josh Burack resigns

KUALA LUMPUR: Josh Burack has resigned as Asian Tour’s chief executive officer (CEO) after serving the organisation for two years.

Burack, who assumed the role in 2016, cited family reasons for his resignation as he wants to travel less and spend more quality time with his wife and two children.

“It is with mixed emotions that I have decided to leave the tour.

“My two children have been urging me to travel less and spend more time with them, so I want to respect their wishes and not have any regrets of my own later,” he said in a statement.

Since taking over in 2016, the Asian Tour has seen rapid growth on the main circuits with an increased 30 events in 2018 from the previous 24 in 2016.

Asian Tour had also made a return to China following a nine-year absence with two more events added to the roster for this season.

“With the Asian Tour in a much stronger position now, I know our talented team will be able to continue the progress.

“It has been a great honour and I will always remain a huge supporter of the Asian Tour,” he added
