KUALA LUMPUR: Malaysia's Faizal Saari is on fire in the Bangladesh Hockey League.
Faizal scored 12 goals in six matches for Mohammedan Sporting Club who are currently second in the Bangladeshi Premier Division.
Prior to his Dhaka stop, the hockey itinerant has previously played in six foreign leagues, in Netherlands, Germany, Australia, India, Hong Kong and Oman.
Faizal said he was pleased with his performance, having scored in all his matches in the Bangladesh League.
The 33-year-old father of two said: "I want to score as many goals as possible in the Premier Division. We have three more matches remaining and I want to make sure that we keep a 100 per cent record."
Faizal, who also featured in the Bangladesh League in 2016, added: "I will come home to celebrate Hari Raya with my family and will return to Dhaka to play in the knockout stage."
Faizal, who has 285 international caps, said he will rejoin the national team on April 20 in preparation for the six-nation Sultan Azlan Shah Cup in Ipoh from May 4-11.
He last played for Malaysia in the Hangzhou Asian Games last October.
