KUALA LUMPUR: Hakim Danish Ramli is on a mission to deliver two podium finishes in the season-ending Red Bull Rookies Cup in Misano, Italy, this weekend.
Last week, Hakim Danish won Race 2 in the sixth round in Aragon, Spain, which was also his maiden win in the feeder series to the MotoGP world championships.
"I'm happy I can return to contest in the front group like before. My target this weekend is to get two podiums in both races.
"I hope the people of Malaysia can pray for my success, and I will do my best," said the 17-year-old in a video by ZK Racing.
Hakim Danish still has a chance to advance to the Moto3 class of MotoGP if he finishes in the top three in the final standings.
ZK Racing manager, Zulfahmi Khairuddin, hopes that Hakim Danish can continue to hit top gear to end up on the podium in both races this weekend.
"I want Hakim Danish to be contending in the front group and stay competitive from the start until the finish.
"His position in the world championship is sixth right now, and if he can finish in the top three, he can step up to Moto3 next year.
"But realistically, it is difficult to achieve that. I hope Hakim can show a high level of performance and get on the podium in both races. After the final round, we will review where Hakim will end up next year," added Zulfahmi.
Hakim Danish is currently sixth with 114 points, and is 47 points behind third-placed Valentin Perrone.
