KUALA LUMPUR: The national netball team opened their 2017 Kuala Lumpur Sea Games (KL2017) campaign with a comfortable 73-30 victory over Thailand at the Juara Stadium in Bukit Kiara here today.
The team, captained by Nur Syafazliyana Mohd, had little difficulty in overcoming their opponents and led 18-10 by the end of the first quarter, before strengthening their position with a 20-point advantage going into the second break.
Buoyed by stellar performances from An Najwa Azizan (GS) and Izyan Syazwana Mohd Wazir (GA), the team led 52-21 going into the final period, closing out the match with confidence.
Malaysia will play Brunei in their second game tomorrow.
