KUALA LUMPUR: The Kuala Lumpur Sea Games (KL2017) pencak silat competition will move from the Kuala Lumpur Convention Centre (KLCC) to the Juara Stadium in Bukit Kiara on Monday due to safety reasons.
Malaysian National Silat Federation (Pesaka) secretary general Datuk Megat Zulkarnain Omardin said the decision was made due to the large number of spectators - exceeding 1,000 fans - that have overwhelmed the competition venue at KLCC.
"Events will start at the Juara Stadium on Monday. Games scheduled for Sunday will be postponed until Monday while the closing ceremony remains on Tuesday," said Megat Zulkarnain.
He added that in addition to Malaysians, Indonesian and Singaporean fans had also turned up to support their respective teams.
Equipment used for the competition will be moved from KLCC to the Juara Stadium upon the completion of the silat seni tunggal (singles) event tomorrow.
