KUALA LUMPUR: Malaysian men’s indoor hockey team were in fiery form to beat Indonesia 5-1 for the inaugural gold medal at the Malaysia International Trade and Exhibition Centre today.
They could even afford to miss a penalty stroke enroute to the golden touch.
Malaysia got their goals off Shafiq Yaacob (fourth), Irwan Nazli (19th), Najib Hassan (23rd), Syed Syafiq (20th) and Arshad Muhammad Amirol Aideed (39th).
The Indonesian consolation was scored by NOURUL Alvin (38th).
In the pool matchs, Malaysia had beaten Indonesia 6-2.
